The case with Youtube trolls: Part 1

Let me start of with something intense here.
For 3 years of being a Youtube user, I have experienced all the rudeness, annoyance and craziness of Youtube users, especially this year's booming popularity of mindless memes. Worse than 9gag. Worse than Pinoy Exchange. Even, worse than DOTA players. By the way, I'm referring to user comments alone.

While some may be witty...


... they still tend to fail.


This is where "fail troll" comes from, a means of teasing and demeaning trolls.

I really think the problem lies in the lack of moderation, and the level of anonymity of users. There's very little on this topic; most studies are done in Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites. Also, based on my observation, most Filipinos only use their Youtube account for posting videos, so commenting is an overlooked area.

This is Youtube's reality of trolling, and it doesn't look pleasant at all.
